Shepherd's Hut

I am selling this newly completed Shepherd's Hut made from oak and cast iron. Fitted with a W.C. and kitchen the hut is designed as a flexible space, currently curated as an office and equally suited as an additional bedroom, treatment room or studio. I have poured thought and love into the design and hope you will be happy here. x

The outside dimensions of our recently completed, handmade Shepherd's Hut are 18' x 8'3".

The chassis is made from substantial green oak beams and a cast iron turntable.

The cast iron elements are from the renowned Bridport Foundry in Dorset and includes 24" wheels, axles, hubs and a drawbar, all painted black.

Each feather board of the exterior cladding is hand nailed in large headed annular rings shank nails to enhance the hand crafted aesthetic.

The double stable doors and all other bespoke joinery is painted in Little Greene’s Air Force Blue.

With double glazing throughout.

The door and window furniture is all black forged iron from the Ludlow Foundry.

The bulkhead outdoor light from Industville is controlled from inside the Hut.

The Hut has been moved to a frame in the drive, awaiting collection.

The living area wall paper is called Botanica and is designed by the wonderful team at Barneby Gates in collaboration with Willow Crossley.

The ceiling is made using the Japanese Yakisugi process of preserving wood by charring it with fire.

The floor is engineered oak.

The living area has four double BG Evolve Matt Grey sockets, one with USB3 charging.

Three LED dimmable Carrick Brass wall lamps from Jim Lawrence.

Though presented here as a home office the space can equally be used as a spare bedroom, accommodating a king size bed lengthways or super king widthways.

The W.C. is fitted out with Butler & Rose Catherine traditional high level toilet and Arezzo square matt black sink with brushed brass mixer tap and decorated in The Other Eden (Vintage Gold) wallpaper by Barneby Gates.

The panelling, architrave, tree stencil and bathroom door are painted in First Light by Little Greene.

The kitchen work surface is cut from the same slab of ash as the desk by the picture window.

Room on the work surface for an air fryer, kettle, toaster and space for an under counter fridge.

• Shepherd's Huts are not usually subject to planning permission but please check with your local authority to be sure.
• The internal dimensions are 17' by 7'3"
• Internal plumbing for cold water is all complete. All that will be required is connection to a cold water supply and sewage main.
• All necessary wiring for a water heater are in place and there is room below the sink to place the unit.
